CoachMark Bursary

The CoachMark Bursary scheme, launched in January 2013, helps Hertfordshire coaches to meet the costs of coaching courses.

We normally offer bursaries for courses and/or workshops that will help coaches to develop. In addition, some bursary rounds have had a particular 'theme' - for instance, bursaries awarded specifically to support disability sport.

In 2014/15, we are targetting the CoachMark bursary scheme to help the Sport England-funded Sportivate programme.

Who is eligible?

The CoachMark Bursary is only available to coaches working on Sportivate projects, or potential Sportivate projects, in Hertfordshire.

All successful applicants will be required to complete the CoachMark process, if they have not already done so. You can find out more about CoachMark (and register on the database) here:

Applications can only be made by individuals, on their own behalf. Clubs running Sportivate projects should encourage their coaches to apply.

Please read the terms and conditions that appear at the bottom of this page. For Sportivate-related bursaries, the 'Level 2 or above' restriction does not apply.

What can be funded?

  • Appropriate courses that will help the coach to develop and contribute to the Sportivate programme.

Please note that we cannot fund courses that have already started. It is your responsibility to ensure that your application arrives in time for it to be processed before your course starts. We hate to disappoint!

How do I apply?

You will need to complete an application form - see the bottom of this page. You will be asked to show how a bursary will help you to increase participation in sport or physical activity and to contribute to Sportivate.
